We had a great day of XC Schooling at Woodstock Equestrian Center in Maryland! This free facility offers everything from stadium jumps to XC elements, including ditches, banks, a water complex and other jumps for various levels. Team Cadence enjoyed another great cross country outing at Gordonsdale last weekend! Our horses and riders had a blast negotiating all different kinds of XC obstacles. Perfect weather and excellent photos courtesy of Hannah Jones Photography made it a day to remember.
Team Cadence had a very fun outing at Morningside Training Farm in The Plains on Sunday! Riders schooled over many different XC obstacles, including logs, banks and water complexes. We ended the day with a refreshing swim on horseback through Morningside's lake, which was a fun and new experience for many of our horses and riders. We can't wait to go back!
Cadence Stables is proud to announce that Concerto's Sonata was awarded a Silver Premium rating today at the RPSI inspection. Her Dam, Chamber Music, was accepted into Mare book 1 as well.
RPSI inspecitions, or keurings, are held in the late summer and early fall of each year at host sites throughout North America. Inspections are judged by qualified representatives of the German Parent registry. The same judges inspect German and North American foals to ensure consistency, resulting in fair and ethical keurings. As in Europe, approved mares and stallions are entered directly into the Mare Book and Stud Book and foals are given a registration number at birth. This number follows the foal's show results, location and breeding records, if applicable.

Red Gate Farm hosted a fantastic schooling opportunity at their low key jumper show on Wednesday evening, July 13th. Each rider pushed themselves a little farther because it was such a comfortable environment. Tyler and Sima did a beautiful round at 2 ft. Hannah on Maddie and Isa on Lars did their first competition at 2'7". And Sandi on Dobby, Heidi on Thor, Amy on Onyx, and Diane on Star all pushed themselves to 2'11" and had great fun! We look forward to returning to this show in August!
Last Frontier Farm (owned by Sharon White) hosted its annual derby cross horse trial - JUMP! - on Monday, July 4th. The courses are a combination of stadium-style and cross-country jumps designed to be ridden at appropriate division-level speeds. Team Cadence showed up (patriotic gear and all!) with four horse and rider combos and had a great time. Riders were able to walk the course with Sharon before their division. There were a lot of bright and distracting obstacles but all of the horses took everything in stride - everyone agreed that it was a very fun (and festive) way to spend the 4th of July!
Our eventers had a fun outing at Elysian Hills on Saturday, July 2nd for their Starter Horse Trial. Both Sandi (on Dobby) and Tyler (on Lars) had great rides in the Elementary division. Huge congrats to Sam and Draco for completing their first full horse trial!
Team Cadence had a great day at Turner Farm Horse Trials in Great Falls on Sunday! Sandi and Dobby placed 2nd and Heidi and Thor placed 3rd in the Elementary division. Michelle and Dave placed 2nd in the Intro division and Cinda and Charlie had fantastic jump rounds. The weather was beautiful and the event was very well-run which made for a stress-free day. Congratulations to all of our horse and rider combos!
Team Cadence beat the mid-week blues and headed to Twilight Eventing at Loch Moy Farm on Wednesday, June 8th. The Twilight Eventing series consists of a condensed version of the three phases - riders complete all three phases within a half hour of starting their dressage test. The weather was beautiful and all of our horse and rider teams made us proud! Congrats to Sandi and Elko, who placed first in their first ever CT!

Our horses and riders had a blast negotiating logs, banks, ditches, water and other jumps. We're fortunate to have lots of fun schooling options nearby and can't wait to go back!

Cadence Stables is excited to announce the arrival of Concerto's Sonata (Sonata for short), an adorable filly born on the morning of May 19th. Both baby and mother, Music, are happy and healthy. Stay tuned for more updates on this adorable girl as she grows!
